WARTHOG: The animal that can live without water for several months

Warthog the animal that dwell on grassland, savanna and woodland in sub-Saharan Africa, is a member of pig family. It has poor vision although its vision is better than other pigs.It has the best senses of smell and hearing.Warthog are found in most  South of Sahara and widely distributed in E.Africa
They are the only pigs able to live in areas without water for several months.they can conserve moisture inside their bodies and have an ability to tolerate a higher temperature than a normal body which in turn help cooling their bodies ,this mechanism is also used by Camels and desert gazelles for survival in hot environment
The weight of a warthog ranges between 120-150 pounds.Warthog normally live in groups of female and her young . Men also live in their own group but they can join female group to mate . These animals sleep and rest in holes dug by other animals ,they line grasses perhaps to make them warmer .Warthog  has four(4) teats which are confined to four  (4) young .  "Even if one piglet dies , the other do not suckle from the available teat." Predators of warthog are Lion and Leopards .They protect themselves from predators by fleeing or sliding backward into a hole ,thus being in a position to use their tusks in an attack
